Found Objects

Location
'Found Objects' is an ongoing series exploring the power of everyday objects with illustration and storytelling. From the prosaic (like a soda can) to the profound (The Rosetta Stone), there is no denying that objects are a cultural record; they have the ability to spark self reflection, hold us together, tell a story, and bring context to our personal & shared history. In the museum world, objects / artifacts are used as physical storytellers of history and society as a whole.
Each of the objects included in this series is rooted in nostalgia. The standalone illustrations invite you to reflect on the meaning we derive from the objects we see every day, and the objects we choose to keep and collect. Some of these objects will hold collective meaning, while others might resonate individually. They can express our values, our interests - who we are, how we live, and what we love.
By definition, 'Found Objects' in art refer to items [found by the artist] incorporated into their work. Usually, these objects have been altered or used as part of an assemblage sculpture. This is my 2D expression.
