"Objects / Artifacts” is a new series exploring the power of everyday objects through illustration and storytelling. From the prosaic (like a soda can) to the profound (The Rosetta Stone), there is no denying that objects are a cultural record; they have the ability to spark self reflection, hold us together, tell a story, and bring context to our personal & shared history. In the museum world, objects / artifacts are used as physical storytellers of history and society as a whole.
Even more interesting (to me), are the objects we choose to keep and collect. They can express our values, our interests - who we are, how we live, and what we love. In this ongoing series of illustrations, I hope to highlight the beauty and power of these tangible reminders of our memories.
