Bas Relief Medusa - Elizabeth Street Garden
Size: 7" x 7"
Description : Originally hand painted with ink and gouache, this print is an illustration of a bronze bas relief of Medusa's head in Elizabeth Street Garden. Printed on Archival Giclee paper. This piece comes unframed.
About the Artwork: The one-acre community green space tucked away in Nolita was created in 1991 by Allan Reiver as an outdoor extension of Elizabeth Street Gallery. Reiver turned the one abandoned lot into a community garden. Reiver collected salvaged statues to create an urban oasis that is as unique as the city itself. Unfortunately set to be demolished at the end of 2024, New Yorkers are still actively fighting to keep the little oasis alive. These prints are part of a series of illustrations of statues located in the Elizabeth Street Garden.
